I have added some pictures of my modified cowl opening. I used a Dremel to enlarge the hole so that a plastic container top would fit inside the hole. Then from the inside I built up the lip using the plastic top to hold the filler ( Sig epoxilite ). After it dried I removed the top and sanded the lip until it was smooth.
