Default RE: AMD Hawk.

HI Will,

It sure looks like you Gae a Hawk in T-45 clothes. It still looks good. In fact it looks just like my Red Arrows Hawk except for the colors. The interior plywood is the same as mine, so let's assume it's the same kit.

Hopefully, yours is much better than mine in several areas. My rear bulkheads were very poorly glued in The glue was more like a hot gun adhesive that never got hard. I had to glue them in myself, as the all came loose.

When you start to cut the canopy our of the piece it was vacuum formed from. go slow. To begin with only cut away the ends so you can fit it over the curve of the fuselage. IF YOU CUT IT to the line that looks like it will be fie finished size, it may end up too small. I almost did that. The sides had to be left about 1/8 inch longer than the imprint in the plastic, and the front and rear more than that. If I had cut to the impression in the plastic, it would have ended up so short it would not have been able to lay over the fuselage recesses on both ends.

You may find other areas that need some attention once you get into it. Mine started out as an ARF, but has become a project. It's till easier than starting from scratch.

Good luck.

Joe
