Default RE: which brand of engine is the "best"

ORIGINAL: TimC
we were the ones that nuked them.
With quotes like that is it any wonder that Americans have a bad reputation in most other countries? Do your country a favour and don't get them all a bad name...

Tactless comments aside, I did say that I do like OS engines. I do not know why we've had a few bad batches. I suspect they're manufactured in batches. Maybe we got a few dodgy ones? I don't know. Frankly, I don't care.

I wouldn't make something like that up. I have enough true stories to tell that are much funnier than my favourite engine brand making mistakes. I don't pretend to speak for the world markets, but I do KNOW that we've had a hefty number of problems with recent engines in the UK. If they sort it out fine. Maybe it's an unfortunate blip on their record. Maybe it's a transition period implementing new quality control systems. Once again, I really couldn't care less.

I do know that a number of shops in the UK are recommending different brands at the moment due to complaints and returns with recent O.S. engines.

If this isn't what some members want to hear then fine, stop reading. I'm not interested in who's habits I change, and I'm not pushing any other brand either. All I'm trying to do is offer some comments on recent experiences with a few (not all) shipments of O.S. to the UK.
