I routinely do that with my TT 46 Pro's. They respond quite favorably -- 300+ RPM gain with an APC 11-6, & no adverse effects, other than a modest increase in noise (the stock TT muffler is noisy to begin with, but is quite restrictive).

That engine really responds to the Tower/GMS/Hobbico "tuned" muffler, although there is even more noise.
