Default muffler performance question

Is it a good idea to remove the baffle & enlarge the exuast exit for performance if noise is not a problem?

I have a TT46 I did this to, before I completely thought it through. I always remove my baffle and it helps with loading up,

but not in conjunction with drilling the exit. Ill see next warm spell. Any ideas anybody? Sure would appreicate it,thanks

You may loose some tank pressure but noise and power will increase.

I routinely do that with my TT 46 Pro's. They respond quite favorably -- 300+ RPM gain with an APC 11-6, & no adverse effects, other than a modest increase in noise (the stock TT muffler is noisy to begin with, but is quite restrictive).

That engine really responds to the Tower/GMS/Hobbico "tuned" muffler, although there is even more noise.

In most engines it is OK. You will just have to try it and find out on your engine?

Enjoy,

If tank pressure is a problem you can always put baffle back in. Some people drill the baffle larger .

As I already said -- no problems. The TT Pro doesn't have fuel draw issues unless the fuel line is very long. Also, don't use an in-line filter -- use a filter on the suction line on your fuel can.
