Update on the retracts, well I had her out yesterday and it worked well. The retracts came out an crashed corsair. Wobbeling made the takeoff not easier, as I said the retracts were used.
Today I was shopping for some new ones, $28 is not a bad price – in the same time I got new wheels. I bended the gear in shape so they fit and flush nice to the wing. This time I did not mount the doors. They looked cool but I had the impression the interfere with the stable flight of the P51.

This afternoon I went to the field – she handles good on the ground – not one nose over. Now I have to hold the elevator up at the taxi and the take off. As soon the wheels are of the ground I ease on the elevator and she climbs up……then comes the moment before the first bank……..landing gear up.

The landing is not much different then before – just the taxi back need some practice, hehehe. The tail wheel has not so much influence when you play with the throttle. I will make another video…
