I would recommend two things.
Go with an APC propeller and you will enjoy a big difference in pull and RPM"s.

While this may not be a recommended practice, I would recommend that you get some seafoam. I found it at NAPA autoparts stores. Spray it in the engine while it is running. It should break up some of the carbon. I have done this and liked the results.
