As for what I will use it for, well I could locate the on/off switch in there or mount the torso of a tanker with the head sticking out. I might use it as an access port for the battery, in order to charge it.

I won't lose the covers because I intend to drill holes through the hinges and insert pins, in order to make the hatches functional......and equally important-aesthetically pleasing.
