Default RE: scale boat purchase

It looks like a nice model but I do not have any experience with it. Not quite a scale boat in my opinion. It is a small boat with a small 4.8v motor. Personally I would loose interest in it after 10 min. It is not a big seller from Dumas. If you are interestd in a Dumas boat in the same price range I would recomend. The Dumas Coast Guard 40' It is a nice build but as with the Osprey you will have to plank the hull and fiberglass. Some peolple enjoy it and some people hate it.

Here is the info on the Osprey from Dumas:

You have a full day of fishing ahead and the Osprey is just the boat to get the job done! This charming model combines a salty appearance with the lines of a New England style fishing boat. The end result being a real eye pleaser that is a pleasure to build. The Osprey is built from die cut poplar plywood, and includes all the drive line hardware and scale detail parts. The instructions are laid out in such a way that the beginner will feel as comfortable as the pro. If this is your first boat or your hundred and first the economically priced Osprey will please modelers young and old.
Length 24-1/2 inches Beam 9-7/8 inches
Power Use Dumas #2021 4.8v electric motor
Running Hardware Included in kit

Here is my modified Dumas 40' Coast Guard. A nice build and a nice looking boat on the water. Dual motors, counter rotating props. Fairly easy build and looks great on the water.

Does this help at all or now even more questions?[:@]

The interior shot looks like a mess. It was when I was installing the deck lights
