If your only "considering" a blender then this will be a good learning experience for you. At one time I wanted to compete but it just wasnt my cup of tea. I still love to do precision but since I work so much time limits me to flying about once a month now, so I just do whats fun. The key in your first competition is to just go out and work the butterflys out and watch and learn b/c in the end its all about having fun.
