here is the way I break it down.... if you are looking for a really good stable hovering helicopter...you will mostly fly circuits.. and the majority of your flying is indoors, then the Shogun is perfect....

if you will fly more outdoors, and will be really wringing it out with some serious 3D flying, then the Trex is your bird...

either is capable, they just do different things....
