I cushioned the pack really well, at least 5mm of foam on every side. But I'll find out soon enough if that's true. If it is I'll slap a capacitor on the car.
PS: Kendall Bennet from A-Main Hobbies has run LiPo for some time now. He didn't mention anything of the kind.
