They (#11) have the same basic shape; a sharp point and straight cutting edge, although the #11 scalpel blade has more acute angle and even sharper point than hobby blade. #11 scalpel blades are all I use for hobby work, they are a LOT sharper and about half as thick as X-acto blades, but don't hold the edge as long maybe. They also won't take as much punishment as the hobby blade, but I can cut a wing's worth of balsa before needing to change one.
