Hi Jeff,
The market is flooded with 3D planes now and just about every major manufacturer makes them. What size plane are you looking for? This will help us to narrow the suggestions down to models of that size from large international distributors that your local hobby shop may carry.
Regards.

why not built a fan-fold plane. planes are free online. and you just use about 10.00 worth of insulation foam. your gws equiptment can power it fine

have a look on the 3d flying forum for the thread title 'backyard 3d and video'.
theres a great thread guiding you all through the building and setup of a little 3d electric model that will fly on your gws gear

jeffhines13,
Have you investigated SturdyBoard-type materials? They sell the stuff here in office, school or architectural supply shops. It's a layer of (depron) foam laminated between two paper sheets. It's used for signs, posters, models, etc. You have to soak the paper parts off, but you end up with some decent building material for a foam plane.
There's some great info on RC Unverse, but if you are interested in electrics, you will find far more over on [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=4]RCGroups.com[/link]
Search there on Trident 3D, Foamtana, 3DX, Ultimate Bipe. Lots of stuff in the Foamies section. Good luck.

Radical RC also sells a Vertigo 3D which hovers awesome and you can fly it in your backyard. The best thing about it is it will fly on a $38 dollar motor and gear drive. Radical RC sells complete packages also.

OK- since no one else has done it - I will mention an inexpensive combo you can do
you need only the blue 1/4" thick foam -some 1/8 x1/4" spruce and some clear duct tape for the model - stick with 300 square in area - make it 30" span and 30" long.
done right -it will be under 4 ounces ready for equipment.
use the GWS 350 motor and their 5.3 -1 gearbox - 3 mini servos -a mini rx and most importantly two high discharge LiPo cells about 1200 ma.
the wing has an overlapped spruce spar - 1/8"1/4" spruce on edge overlap about 8" out
this wing is sturdy .
use the spruce as a motor stick and a rear fuselage stick
the exact profile means nothing - just look at them all and do a neat clean setup .
all up weight should be 10 -11 ounces -this will hover nicely on a 10" prop - try a few .
here is a pic of one of mine -
plans are available for lots of models but the weight is all important - once you hit over 12 ozs -you will work the motor pretty hard to get performance .
3 cells will give instant performance and a hot motor .

ok found blue foam cost about 35$$ a sheet [:@] so thats one step closer now the other big problem is that lipo batterys are not very popular here so they cost the earth any suggestion what to do here ? or should i fork out the 65$$ bucks for a pack and then a nother 150$$ for a charger ? its getting expinsive [:@]

blue foam is typically 35 bucks a package of sheets - also tho 65 bucks is high for the two cell Lipo batt-- the charger should be only about 25-35 bucks for a two cell type.
look around more before you buy - ask the locals where they get their stuff.
