Dose anyone have any idea when the yak will be available? I ordered one in November and they said it would ship mid to late December and hear it is January.

Shockflyer is also coming out with a foam indoor jet model. Its a Mig. Runs off a pusher prop. There is a pic of it in this month's Model Aviation magazine. Looks pretty cool to me.

The way I have found to post is to go to Forums, click a topic, like Electric 3D Flying, and at the bottom of the list on the first page, on the left, there is a New Post button.

I got a shocky from Horizon Hobby with every thing for it from them. I am using the same setup as they say will hover at half throttle or less. The thing will not hover at full throttle. I biult the plane as they said. Could there be something else wrong?
Heres my set up. This is my frist EP Plane.

(1) Hitec HFS-04MG reciever for Futabab 9-CAP Radio
(3) Hitec HS-55 Servos
(1) JETI Speed Control
(1) AXi 2208/34 Motor
(1) APC 10x3.8 Prop
(1) Kokam 7.4V 340 mAh Bat.
Please Help me as I said it's my first EP Plane

i think its two much of a draw for one 340 mah battery pack on my set up like that i run two in parallel and if you have more than one pack its not as much of a big deal than to run two just need to make a y harness ... if i was buying batteries for one of those set ups right now i would buy thunder power packs the 2 cell 860 mah packs ? i think they are its somewhere around that mah range but there is less of a voltage drop and that is your problem you will have awesome power and better flight time with the thunder power pack .... the problem is when hobby-lobby set up there shocky set up im not sure if there was much of a choice as far as batteries although i do believe the one 340mah pack is a mistake on the web site

Yes, try a Thunder Power or go to 3 cells. On 3 cells you WILL hover.

yea three cells will hovor for maybe 2 min on 340 with an axi 2208/34 its realy not enough batt and you are putting a large load on the battery ... you need to be able to draw more for a longer period of time

My friend just stoped by and dropped off a

Thunder Power 900mah 7.4 volt 2-cell bat.
10c cont/ 16c burst (9A/14.5A)
This should be better right?

Oh and dont let your cat nock your shocky off of a table. You will have to buy a new one.
My cat nocked mine off this morning and tore it into 6 chunks and cracked the right wing.
I dont think it will fly again.
---
This is alot different from 1/4 Scale Gassers.
but thats my 100 cents.
Thanks

Yes that battery should be better. Too bad about the shocky. If you can tape the pieces together it should still fly fine. Strapping tape is very good for this.

I hope this picture works. Any ways has anyone tryed to find Depron foam at a hobby store or hardware store? I can't find it any where. Me and some friends are finishing up planes on a 50% Foemy Extra 300. that is a nice size full scale planes. our planes and parts sheet takes up a 2 car garage floor!
YEAH!

You know how mad you get when you have your shocky on the kitchen table, and then your cat jumps up on one side and slides across the table into your shocky and follows it to the floor and lands on it? NO? Well I do. I only had 6 or 7 flights on her? I wish I could have put her in my self. It's a shame. But I know it's my fault because I put it on the kitchen table. Sorry to see it go in that way.

It is a great thing to have my own plane that flies great indoors Saturday we were at a indoor meet and I had more fun than I think I have had in a long time flying I had 3 midairs and broke the landing gear of twice the last time that I broke the gear I did not have time to fix it so I flew with one. I was doing one wheel touch and goes and could land and take off with the wing tip dragging on the ground. I do not think I have ever broke a plane so many times in one day. The place that we were fling had what appeared to be 3 metal walls and a metal roof not a goo combo with a gws receiver I do not think that I ever had so much interference I was hovering several times and the motor just cut out from the interference and hit the ground tail first breaking the rudder rolling circles, tight flat turns, loops, snaps, knife edge anything you want to do it would do I had never had a plane that would hover well till this one. tonight we were out in the back yard in the dark with the 600 watt flood light fling
