Default Shocky wing position problem?

Ey guys....a tiny problem i'm sure and well no big deal to fix but I thought I should check with you guys quickly what would be my best bet. Ok I'm building a spare shocky and in this case the Superstar. In the instructions they state that the wings of the superstar and the extra should be 15mm forward of the slot in the horizontal fuz half. The edge is shown to be only 5 right? Ok well I measured the whole thing out and when adding the bottom fuz it doesn't line up correctly at all. The fuz sticks out 5mm in front of the horizontal fuz and obviously the top back piece of the fuz doesn't line up either. Now i'm not sure if it will be better to glue the wing in the position they want it and then to just modify the slots and tabs of the bottom fuz to get it in the right place? Or should I rather move the wing back? i'm sure I messed up somewhere but I can't put my finger on it. Logic tells me to rather glue the wing where they said I should and then just cut 5mm off the tabs involved and well the slots involved. No big deal to do that and will only take me a minute. But moving the wing back could affect alot of things obviously?

I know these things are not too sensitive to dimensions at all but maybe someone has had this problem and can give me quick and easy go with what answer? []

I dont know.
I built the edge, but not the superstar.
I have a superstar, just not started on it yet.

I would say leave the wing and cut the slots. If anything, that would give you a little more tailweight which should be good.

Cutting slots and tabs it is! Wing shall stay on the 15mm mark. LOL Still wonder what I did wrong though.

HI,

I recall the same dilemma with my SuperStar. I put the wing where instructed, but you're quite right - it doesn't line up!

What are you powering yours with? I have the Axi 2208/34 Jeti 08 controller and 2c 700mAh Li-Po. It gives me 10 minutes of continuous 3D-useful power, hovering at below half stick. 3 cells is just...well, crackers!!! - don't do it, too much juicee anyway for the poor old motor!

Cheers

Same motor only with the modelmotors 8A speed control. Kokam 2s 700maH pack. The stuff is in my extrema now but I want to get the superstar ready for riggin because I don't think the extra is going to last much longer.

What did you end up doing? Cutting the tabs and slots? I think i'm just going to cut it because I sort of already glued the wing on. I can still cut it loose with little effort but why hassle?

I just finished gluing my Extra 330A together last night and had the same issue. I Glued the wing 15mm as instructed and cut the notch in 5mm so the fuse lines up in front. The only Issue I can forsee is the CG might be off. I plan on addressing CG when it comes time to mount the battery however. I should have taken a picture obviously since others had the same question I did! Next person that gets in that situation take a screen shot of the missalignment.
