Does anyone know how the E-Flite 370 4100kv would compare to the BL-20 that is packaged in the combo? I have the E-Flite 370 setup on my E-Flite Ultimate geared 6.6:1 and was wondering if it would transplant over to the Yak and provide enough thrust.

I've just oredered one last week. I've been flying Tribute 3D with 370 brushless (5400 kv). I did not like Tribute becuase of the all the flexing in the wing and fuse.
Anyway, the weight of my Tribute including battery was about 15.5 oz. If the Yak's advertizing weight of 14-16 oz includes the weight of battery, the 370 system should be fine.
Did anyone weight the plane yet?

Just got mine last night. This one is a winner. Its lighter than my E-Flight Ultimate by an ounce or 2.
Mines getting a Razor 400 and a TP1320 3 cell pack on a Top Creations 6:6-1 gearbox. I expect it will be rediculously overpowered. [sm=lol.gif]

Hello,
How is everyone routing their servo wires? I'm trying to make it neat and easy for disassembly. Any pics of planes already flying? It would be great to see how everyone is doing their electronics. Maybe a couple pics of the bottom of the plane.
Man, this thing assembles fast.

Mac,
Mine isnt very neat as far as the wires and stuff go. The bottom is open at that one bay that the instructions tell you to use. My ESC and RX are in there and the switch is routed to the outside of the wing and taped in place.

What is everyone using for connectors from the battery to the speed controller. This is my first electric, I got the complete setup with motor & ESC and I am using Thunder Power 3 cell 1300 Mah pacs. I have the Apache 2500 charger and it has a JST/BEC connector, is this connector good enough to use for the battery/ESC connection?

JLS, I would order from www.aeromicro.com I just ordered there again and they ship your stuff out the same day they get payment, thats including right now if you were to pay. I usually wait 1-2 days and my stuff is here, its great. Right now they have a 10% discount on thunderpower batteries.

ORIGINAL: wgeffon
Jon is still in Cinci but will be moving east near the end of the year. He is going to be based in Washington DC but maybe living in PA for a while.
You guys can fly together again. Your lucky. I learned a ton from him since I have met him.

Looks like the short horns go on the ailerons and the long on the ruder/elevator. Is this correct?
This seems to align the hole over the hinge line the best, no mention in the instructions

Do you guys have any trouble with your speed control, not shutting off the battery at 9.0 volts as recommended by Thunder Power? The speed controller that came with my engine shuts off the battery at 7.8 volts. Reading the instructions that came with the battery - says that this low volatge (7.8) can be harmful to the battery[

Yes, be sure to check the wood control horns...the shorter ones go on the alierons...if you don't do it right, the wing won't be removeble...

Absolutely a quick easy build. Literally complete in less that 3 hours. The instructions were better than the shockflier but still slightly lacking.
3 areas that slowed me down because I had to think (but were obvious after I did) the aileron/elevator control horns - make sure the short ones go on the ailerons (the hole goes over the hinge line), the screws that hold the wing/horizontal stab are different lengths, the short ones go on the back - the mounting system is a little cheezy, those screw holes in the back arent going to last, and it was a bear to get those plastic thingys to hold on the wing, the last thing to slow me down were the pushrod guides - wow, were they fun to glue in or what? And just when you think you got it glued in perfectly, it breaks off while you try to put the pushrod through the hole. Overall, extremely well thought out. It literally fell together, these issues are so minor I'm almost embarassed to post them.
Flies like its a lot bigger than it is - no bad habits to report, but I'm still trimming/mixing mine, So far, everything is very straight forward. I cant remember the last time I had an airplane exceed my expectations like this one, its a real winner.

, now I just need the other stuff to come and this should be flying in no time. This plane is built so well I guarentee I couldn't build this as perfect as they have.
