If I have a plane that weighs 21 ozs..
and I want to do a decent amount of vertical {not insane 3d type} would a motor/prop setup that gives the exact same amount of thrust as the planes weight {21oz } accomplish this..or do I need to go signifigcantly higher in thrust in comparison to the planes weight??..

You are going to want 25 to 30 oz of thrust, assuming your all up weight is 21 oz. This is about the weight of my Acro Phat.
It flies with an MPJet 25 3/1 geared motor and TP 3s 2100, and a 10X7 prop. Wonderfully acrobatic with a lot of vertical.

RE: If I have a plane that weighs 21 ozs..
thank you..I actaully am not looking for 100:s of feet of vertical..more or less 40ft whenever I want it..and so it looks good coming out of a level flight pattern...not a sloppy vertical..but not 3d vertical...somewhere in between//with about a speed of 40 mph..its for a sky0-scooter pro2..
