It is against RCU policy to start a thread even a single thread to shill a product.
As per the spratrbo and hovermaster thread.

The problem is people come to this thread thinking they will learn something about precision flying, that is why I came to this thread.
Was there anything on precision flying. NO.
Just someone promoting a plane.

Greg that is clearly against RCU policy

Brad don't you have something better to do than bash guys talking about their plane. I like the plane and I have seen Jon fly his big ones and it's spectacular! So this is interesting to me as is. If the plans became avavilable I would want them.
My suggestion to you Brad is to pass up a thread that bothers you. Life is too short man. Mike

Hey mups53
I came to this thead because it was intitled Precision flying with a Foamy

Is that what this thread is about
NO

If I wanted to read about a foamy someone may want to produce I would go to new product announments
where this thread should have been started.

If every Tom, Dick, and Harry started a thread of interest such as precision flying etc and it turned out to be nothing but a shilling thread the whole premise of forums would be ruined.
That is why RCU has a policy in place not allowing this.

wgeffon
how dare you tell me to go away. I am intiltled to read any thread on here I choose.
I came to this thread because of it title. I find you shilling a plane.

The jury is still out as to whether RCU will find this is a shilling thread.
If not, it is so close it is pathetic

If you take my advice and go away you wouldnt have to worry about it.

I love it when people appoint themselves the Internet Police!

Ok. from wayne and jon I need to know now whether there is the likelihood this plane will be sold for profit in the future. If it is likely (please answer honestly and I know you will) we will move this to the product & announcement forum. If it will be very unlikely to be sold ever or if the plans will be given away for free online or something (anything 100% non-profit) then we can leave it. Please advise asap so we can do the right thing.

Not to change the subject but the plane looks like a scaled down Composite ARF F3A version of the Impact. I havn't ever flown a precision flat foamie and I doubt that one could be. I have a Flipper 3D that has moments that allows smooth flying. I fly pattern all the time and I consider that precision flying. To get that thrill from a precision foamie I built a Formosa with the TBM mods.
Don't get me wrong Wayne I love the plane your showing. Thanks for sharing your piece of poo plane. Mike

Marc,

The plans and plane will not be sold, kitted, or available.

This statement proves he is involved with the designer.
Shilling plain and simple

Jon Leyland designed this plane to first and foremost fly Precision .
Its awesome!

yet it was not Jon we heard from it was wgeffon

In this case since the plane will not be sold for profit the plane, its flying, plans, etc are free to discuss in this forum. With no intention to sell this is not a promotional thread and thus does not fall within the commercial spam rules.

Brad-A - Thanks for looking out for our rules. We do have them in place to minimize ads in our forums and promote the healthy unbiased discussions of products by modelers. If you have more on this though please PM me and we can discuss but for now I have to take them on their word this is a thread made to share rather then to sell.

Hi,
Sorry for all the confusion. I gave Wayne plans for this plane awhile back. I kept urging him to build it with the intent that he would like it. Finally a few weeks ago he built it. He was very excited about it and wanted to share his excitement with everyone. So he posted a thread about it with video links. It seemed like there was an interest in the plane from a few people and kitting the plane was discussed. We worked out how much it would cost and the work involved and decided not to pursue that. That's where it was left off. With the upcoming season approaching I don't have time to do much other then build planes for myself, same goes for Wayne I'm sure. I didn't expect someone to be unhappy with this thread- Wayne asked me if it was ok if he started a thread on it. I said fine. I don't mind at all if the thread is deleted - whatever's easier for RCAdmin. If you constantly get pm's from certain people just go ahead and get rid of the thread. There's more important things to deal with I know.
take care
Jon

Yeah I am involved with the designer.
He is one of my best friends.

I just thought it was cool that he had designed such a cool plane.
Thought I'd share it with people here. Some get it, some dont. Brad-A, your in the dont get it group.

If its not for sale, never was, its not a shill.

Wayne,

There is no reason to kill it. That is not what RCU is about. Please talk freely about this plane. I will moderate as necessary to keep it on track and based on what you both said it isn't a commercial post. It was just to discuss the plane so please continue on with the discussions and we apologize for the interruption. I'll clean some of this thread up now but the mods will be able to see what was left behind for reference.

Then why did jleyland not say it was not for sale in the earlier posts when it was mentioned . In fact it was cleland who said he would think about it.
