Default question on GP Turmoil Flatouts

would a 8.4V Li-poly battery be enough power for the GP turmoil or Flatana with the stock motor? i already have everything i need for one of the two planes except the lipoly charger. i've had the battery for a while and didn't want to buy a battery that costs as much as the plane. thanks!

Do you mean 7.4V? That would be on the weak side for these planes; you really need a 11.1V. I got a $25 850 mAh pack from Polyquest that works great on my Flatana.

i got the battery with a heli and the add said it was 8.4V. but as bdavidson in another post was saying is that i was most likely a typo. BUT, it out performed a thunder power 7.4V 1500 mAH li-po. also thank you for the battery idea. are apogee batteries cheap? i've heard that they are really good.

Well, i will let you know how she flies. i dont have a Li-Po charger so i might try my Ni-Mh. when i was discharging my batteries my Nimh had a lot more punch than my Li-Po. it may not be the lightest plane but i'll get it lighter as soon as i get a Li-po charger.

i flew a friend of mines turmoil outside of the hobbyshop he works at the other day and it seemed to fly like the tensor was different from the other foamies ive had(flatana, outrage, furious) and im thinking about getting one it does very tight loops both inside and out but the roll rate was sluggish, knife edge was easily held and parachutes were awesome harriers were ok but with some wing rock and hover was pretty good even with a forward cg like he had it set-up

well, i crashed it on the first flight and ripped the whole nose off. my parents and I have talked and im going back to rc trucks. these planes are too darn frustrating! i might try planes when i have a job to keep buying stuff for them.
