Dude

Pay the 5 bucks and get the Y connector. I do not believe that you can just put the two together. Even though the plane isn't that expensive, pay the frieght and by the connector. You will use it for something else.

yup, get a y harness, also, there is no way of reversing the servo unless it has its own channel on the radio, or if you buy a servo reverser, the plane should be set up to work with the y harness..

if ya solder the power leads together thats fine but the signal lead will jitter and most like ruin the servo if ya try and solder it, y leads are cheap but if ya got the funds get a 6 channel puter radio best move you will ever make

Mount one aileron servo in the center of the top wing. That way you'll save a few grams, you won't need a Y connector, and it will still fly fine. There's a thread here someplace and a video of a guy flying it with just one servo. It flys fine.

i did mine with a single aileron servo. works outstanding and i can use a 4 ch rx with no problems. had mine mounted upright in top wing. also seen a pic they put it upside down in top wing.

the new ultimate fx from eflite has it on the bottom wing, one servo upside down.

Yes you can solder the wires together, all the same color wires together no need to reverse one. With both horns for the ailerons pointing in toward the center the ailerons will work

Man, this thread is getting way too much traffic for a plane that isn't even out yet!

This is the second time I visited this thread. Can someone rename it to "How to make Y connectors".

Yes you can solder the wires together, people do it all the time and there's nothing special about store bought Y connectors except they're safer if you don't trust your soldering skills. But they often weigh more than ones you make yourself.

Vallier Racing, do you have the actual E-FLITE Ultiamte or is it another ultimate? How did you get it?

there are 2 eflite ultimates now. the first, the one i think most of us are talking about, is a profile ultimate. very good flier. the second, i just got mine today, is the ultimate 3dx. very nice looking. check out the 3d section at rcgroups. good pics of one being assembled.

just buy a y connector if you need it.

I bought mine yesterday. It's the 3D with the 3D fuselage. Very nice airplane. Seems to be pretty strong. Even has a fiberglass cowl and little fiberglass wheelpants. I do have one question though: That square wooden motor mount has an up thrust of approx. 2°. I was told this is correct. Can anyone out there who has this plane confirm this? Thanks

Hi guy's.......

I just bought the 3DX and the up thrust concerned me too. But it must be right if it's the same on yours.

The plane looks great and went together easy. The manule says to balance 90mm to 100mm from the leading edge of the to wing in the center. I balanced it at 100mm and flew it. It flew but was way tail heavy. Had to down trim alot to get it to stop climbing at 1/4 throttle. It still wanted to mush though the air, but almost no wing rocking. Very stable in high alpha. I'm using the 370 in runner with gear box. Will hover at 1/2 throttle. Very noisy.

I will move the CG forward and try again today.
