Whew! 34 flights on the new foamy and the 3D abilities are arriving
Most of my flying has been dealing with some wind for the most part. But this morning man :whip: I killed 3 1320 lipos dead with clam conditions :
Anyway, I set out to practice some lowER maneuvers this morning. I was able to lower my knife edges to CRAWLING speeds 25 feet infront of me about 8 feet off the ground
I would start them heading west, then as it approaches I make a 90 degree turn to the south and let it pass right on by

ELECTRIC FOAMIES ROCK I have to get some pics and vids soon

Thanks alot! It's a 3D Foamy Super Cap. Yeap, I've been patting myself on the back allllll day long
It's just amazing on how the practice, practice, practice, just pays off [8D] I'm actually flying it through the entire manuever too, with the way the plane is set up it just doesn't lay on its side by itself... Yes, another pat on the back
All 3 packs are charged and ready for the AM.
One thing I have a problem with is slow flat turns. In my sequence I practice figure 8 flat turns, I am trying to get them consistanly lower to the deck. But it always seems to fall out heavily midway of the turn, so what happens is that I end up using to much up elevator to correct it...
Is it the plane or is just more, practice, practice, practice needed?

On your flat turns try to find the sweet spot for the speed. Sounds like the plane has a small tip stall so you
can try to speed it up just a bit or slow it down like in a harrer keeping your wings leval in the turn.
I have had almost every foamie exept the super. Let me know how how you do.
Good luck..........practice the crap out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By todays standards, on the deck with a foamy would be dragging the wing on the ground. 8 foot may not even qualify with a 40%'er as on the deck. Yes, it has gotten that bad.
No offence.

I figured it was the speed thing along with my set up, but I guess I was concentrating to much on going SLOW through the entire turn. So What I did today was, enter into the turn slower then accel on through the turn. Then power back down upon exiting the turn. As to where before I was just trying to maintain a consistently slower speed through out. Thanks for the insight

Yea I know YNOT, 8 feet isn't on the DECK [:'(] but it was my first attempt on lowering this maneuver. So needless to say I was impressed with myself.
NO WIND conditions again this morning, man, 32 minutes of "NO WIND" flying time. I'm doing nothing but practicing 3D and lovin it [8D]
I am a long time r/c pilot, but VERY new to 3D flying... BUT TODAY!!! I got it (knife edge) down to TWO FEET above the ground/deck [:-]

I just can't believe how SLOW it does a knife edge [>:] It's almost is if it's on a string or something

I've been working on a new maneuver. It has 3 steps:
1. Knife edge on the deck.
2. Tip touch/cartwheel.
3. Return to knife edge.
After many hours of practice and countless attempts, I have "nailed" this maneuver up through the first two steps. However, the third remains elusive.
I'll keep you posted.

I found a cheaters way to lower my hovering closer to the deck. I do a slow knife edge and lower to about 2 feet off the deck then rotate it into a hover.
Today was my LOWEST hover yet!
Today marks 3 weeks with my first FOAMY
