Default flaperons?

Hey guys,

I am pretty soon going to get a extra 300 from EF and would like to have flaps. Well I don't know what exacly they are called, might be spoilerons, but it's when I put up elevator both ailerons go down. And also looking so that I can use the flaps lever on the side of my transmitter (futaba 9c super) so that I can use them when I am coming to land.

I am also wondering if this would be possible to do with a electron 6 receiver from hitec, if not what would work to do that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

LeBlanc

flaperons are a type of mixing, and as long as your transmitter can do it, 9c sure will, and your ailerons are 2 separate servos it should be alright. As far as the flaps go, I suppose you would have to mix your flap settings into the ailerons, which should work fine.

How would I be able to do that? This is my first time even thinking of doing it and it seems pretty cool. So I am a complete newby to this part of the stuff.

I am going to go read my futaba manual, but any help here would be pretty useful!

Thanks guys

Select your model in the 9CAP
Then hold down menu until it goes into the Main Menu
Press menu again to go into the advanced menu
Look for "Flaperons"
Select that, and then program them.

As long as you have a 6ch RX and two ailerons servos...your good to go.

Plug one aileron into the regular aileron channel on the RX, and the other one into ch 6 on the rx.

Now test everything out before you fly.

OK well I've just tried it, and it's getting me frustated!

What does INH and ACT mean? Their in the flaperon menu and the manuel says nothing about it.

I managed to get something happen by elev/flap mode, but at this point there's only one aileron servo that moves and it gets really confusing with this stuff.

Can someone walk me through this completely?

I want to have my flaps go down when my elevators go up and vice versa.
After I have that, I would really appreciate it if someone helps me with getting one of the proportional levers and side of my transmitter (9C super) to have my ailerons act as flaps, ie: when I bring it down, the flaps go down.

Thanks

I don't think flaperons will do that, they will move the ailerons when you move you flap switch/radial. To do what you want, I'm not exaclty sure how to do it, but elev/flap mode sounds about right. I'm sorry I can't be more detailed, I don't have a 9C, I've got a JR 6102, so I can only give you basics, hopefully someone else who has the controller can help you out somre more.

INH means "inhibit", or "turn off".
I don't have any modern stuff with ACT...

Ok, now i've got a new problem...

I have my second aileron servo on ch.6, and it's not an aileron servo anymore it doesn't move when I input ailerons. It only moves with the VR(A) swtich and I don't know where to change that, I don't even know how it did change?!?
I even found how to reset it and still can't move my second aileron but putting it in ch. 6, but it used to work, this thing is really getting enoying.

Ok but on the lighter side, I've found that VR(E) is the switch I want to use for flaps.

But thats all

Hmmm, this is more complicated than I thought

Thanks

Well...looks like you already got it....I was going to put more detailed instructions up.
INH = Inhibit (turn off)
ACT = Active (turn on)

Funny I was just setting up a Yak-55 Flexflight EP on my 6102 and got my first chance to play around with flaperons. I can't beleive I forgot a deans plug, it's the only thing I need before I can maiden it!!!! It's even got an E-flight Park 370 1320Kv in it, I want to see how it goes!!! Congradulations on getting it working, I'm a firm beleiver that there is nothing that can't be solved by tinkering, although instructions help sometimes.

Funny too I have just finished changing my receiver in my yak-55. I have an axi 2212/20 in it. I used to have a u can do with a 4100kv e-flite motor with 6.6-1 gear ratio. Full power was DANGEROUS. I rarely used over 3/4 and hovered at about 2/5 throttle, with a 1320 TP 3s. I am also waiting to maiden this baby with flaps on it. I have already flown it thow without flaps. It was ok, but with flaps it's going to be like taking off weight from the airplane just like having a really light foamy!!

Can't wait!!
