Jack - it depends on how you wanna fly the plane. If its just like a park flyer then I believe according to the specs of the A20-28 its more than enough. A plane like the Spirit will be very happy with a 9 x 4.7 prop turning at about 6,000 RPM if its park flying that you want. For really good performance you want to have like 7,000 RPM on the same prop. As the hobby shop about that sort of RPM they are getting with the 9x4.7 prop.
I have been trying out cheap China motors and they do perform well. Of course they are cheap, very cheap compared to the branded ones. Again, you cannot expect them to be as good as the branded stuff.

thank you very much for your reply
i was looking for something that was 3-D capable, but I,m assuming this set up is not really 3-D. what would be you suggestion about the power plant (hacker/axi or other). i'm looking for not very expensive set up, just to play around over the winter time.
thank you
jack

The Hacker A20 would be good but does the plane come for outrunners or a GSW style stick mount. If that is so get yourself the HIMAX 2816 ... its superb performance for such a plane.
