eflite extra 260 or byp yak?
ive flown electric 3 ch planes befor and i want to get a 3d foamy and ive narrowed it down to these two planes. i want a plane that i can fly in a smaller space when i get comfortable b/c i live at the end of a cul-de-sac and it would be nice to not have to leave home if i just want to fool around for a little while. i was also wondering which would be more durrable. i was planing to run a dx6 with the servos that comes with it and then the recomended set up from horizon. ive heard a lot of good things about both but reasently if heard a few disfavorable things about the byp yak and i was wondering if that was just a personal feeling or a wide spread acurrence. thanks for any input,
Ben

The Byp Yak is an awesome plane. I've got one and my good friend has the extra 260. The extra 260 will be able to fly in a confined space better than the byp yak. The extra is also a lot more rugged and lighter than the byp yak. My byp yak has taken abuse and it shows but the extra is a bit stronger. I would personally go with the extra as it seems like the better choice.

I'd go with the extra too. The byp is great, but I had a heck of a time flying it the first flight, (didn't really how much you actually needed rudderfor turns) The byp is also protty fragile also.

I have just recently purchased a Hobby-Lobby Hot Rod Mini. It is a small maneuverable and lightweight aircraft that would lend itself well to close vicinity flying. If you are interested check out hobby-lobby.com

I personally like the Extra 260 better than the Byp Yak but I like monoplanes better than bipes in the first place. Hobby-lobby is also a good place to look for foamys.

Devin has a great video of the 260 on a playground maybe he can link you to it. It shows what the 260 is capable of. I have 2 of them ordered with a E-flite 300 going on it. They also seem to be a quick build from what people are saying.

I've got the Byp and I like it a lot, but I keep going back to my www.rcxplanes.com Allure. It's not that well known, but Mike Hill, it's designer is going to use it this year for the freestyle portion of the ETOC. I fly mine all the time. It's more durable than the Byp, but not having flown the Extra 260, I can't say how it compares.
