Hello I am very intrested in getting a 3D flyer, but I dont know anything about them, I have a lot of experience in electrics and set-up of planes but I need to know what is a good flyer for a beginner and is there RTR out there to buy? Is there a real popular model that has parts that are easy to get? Any help is much appreciated.

If you are hooked on an RTF, look at the Parkzone Typhoon. Probably the best RTF for a 3D Foamie. I would highly recommended to go ARF, just based on my RTF experience, and have a little better quality gear. But everyone's needs/preferences are a little different. For a first 3D plane, ARF, take a look at the E-Flite YAK54F or the Airfoilz YAK. I prefer the E-Flite version.

Hello Kyle; I have a parkzone Typhoon, and I would reccomend it if you have a bit of flying experience. It's tough, and durable, but it's not very easy to look good on it. I still can't do a decent knife edge, and it isn't easy to hover vertically, but it does such a beautiful invertied flat spin. It'll keep you entertained until you out grow it.
I also have a parkflyers Geebee, a much more "3D" capable plane. $139. complete with transmitter and lipos. It's even more fun to fly, and will do things that I can't describe. If you go with the Geebee, check it over carefully before you fly it. I found a few problems that needed attention before flying.
I found out that if it's windy enough to blow the plane off the table, then it's too windy to fly either of these planes.

Hello,
I am with fliprob17, GO WITH AN ARF! you can put whatever electronics you like in the plane. I learned 3D with an E-Flite ultimate 3D Profile bipe. If you do go with an ARF and you don't have a computer radio get the most radio you can (it is a good investment)
Hope this helps

i think it would be best to go with a typhoon, it seems all 3d flying has to have a brushless system, and if you dont know what you are doing it can be hard to select the right gear.

Thanks guys for all your input, I will look into the typhoon and a couple others, I think I want something that comes complete with motor and esc, brushless technology is rather new, and I dont know a lot about it.
Im sure once I get my foot in the door It will start making more sense. I looked at some parkzone kits and they look nice, I am acually into RC boats pretty heavy right now, and I had to get some thing at the local hobby store, and the employee asked me if I have ever seen a 3D flyer, and I said no, so he had a bi-plane all charged up and said come outside and Ill show you. I couldnt believe all the tricks he was doing with it, I was very impressed and told myself I need one. Plus they are affordable.
Thanks guys

Hey Kyle
I just got into 3D myself i had always flown combat wings befor this.I bought an eflight cap 232 bp arf. Just took it on its maiden flight yesterday was a little nerve racking the first time but it actually flew great once i got a feel for it.The nice thing on this one is at horizon hobby they have a link on the plane to show you exactly what you will need electronics wise to complete it that is what i did and its the perfect setup lots of power when needed and good flight times i highly recomend it its great.
heres the link to it:
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=EFL2400
Only thing i noticed while assembling was the servo holes needed to be enlarged a little but not a big deal just would've been easier before wing was installed just something too know if you go with this setup. This was my first arf kit and i was a little nervous about buying one but after this one i will definitly buy another one it seemed intimidating but it wasnt hard at all.
Good luck
