Don't connect the ESC to a charger EVER. Connect the battery to a seperate charger for cycling (charge and/or discharging). The Red plug (called a Dean's plug) is set to connect to your battery (Red is positive, Black is negative). The other wires connect to the motor. This is a "brushed controller so there are only two wires to the motor. It really does not matter which one is connect to which wire on the motor.

Hope this helps.

The Dean plugs into the Battery. Yes this should be ok for a 370 brushed motor. But, to make sure check to see the maximum current draw is less than 35 amps.
