Default Great Planes Electrifly Ultimate

Electric flyers,
I have a Great Planes Electric Ultimate bipe.. Up graded the motor from the brushless 950 to a brushless outrunner 35-30-1250kv motor with the SS-35 silver series ESC..which the tech guys ( Great Planes) recommended.. First motor burned out after 3 flts.. Today the second motor burned out after 1 flt.. The battery is the Electrifly Li-Po 2100 11.1v 20c 3 cell.. I was flying between 1/2 and 3/4's throttle before I saw the white smoke.. I've kept the battery balanced. Any thoughts ? thx

Default RE: Great Planes Electrifly Ultimate

iv had over 200 flights on the greatplanes 2100 15c packs and they still charge to 2200mah. I use them in my trex450 heli, and my greatplanes extra 330. I use the scorpion motors 100000% better than the rimfires. I am using the 3020-12 motor and get hover at 1/4 throttle!!! full throttle gives me verticle at about 35 mph. I use a 12x4 prop. I would get the next size down scorpion as far as diameter. The 3020 is just way overkill and i had to add an ounce of tail weight. Call gp though, tell them the scoop, and they will upgrade to the next size of motors. They will replace the battery no problem as well. Greatplanes has great customer service
