Need help Hangar 9 27% Cap 232g
Hey guys I need help. I bought a Hangar 9 Cap 232g used with a 45G motor, and it's my first step into the big gas planes. I cant find much info. Can I get some input? I am a good 40 sized 3D flyer.
I heard the Caps snap alot at slow speeds. It snap rolls in a hard banking turn and am found it needs almost a pound of lead in the nose to correct the cg, and this might fix the banking snap rolls. I have read where it is not meant for 3D. People tell me to land it fairly fast or it will snap roll. Also, could I put some vortex plates on the wingtips to alleviate the problem? I know it's an old plane but on my budget I'll be running it for a few years. Also will it hover with an Evo 45? Any input is valuable to me and thanks in advance.

what throws are you running on the elevator low/mid rates? you only need about 8 degress to fly a cap? 3d that is total different of course

'
that cap has been around a while and is it a sport plane IMO
the older cap 21 had a more snappy wing then the 232 and the 580 is the new'st out there but over all it's not a hardcore 3D machine . I'd just fly it and have some fun when your bord sell it and fund a new project
didn't buy it new right ? so your not loseing much eather way
use the inverterd flat line with littel to no wind to find a good CG also IMO..

RE: Need help Hangar 9 27% Cap 232g
I'm running 33 degrees max like the manual says but at 50% so its really tame on the controls. I dont know if I can do dual rates I might get into trouble because I am used to hot setups with profile planes but I could give it a try. I just thought all those big planes were 3D. All I really want to do is torque roll and flat spins. Butt Zaxhary R you are right I'll just fly it. So far it has a big deepwall socket strapped in the nose for balance. If nothing else, I have learned alot about the fuel system and other things so only good is coming from this. I hope it hovers though.
Thanks.
Thanks.

i think i have 8 degrees on my flight modes for my cap and 40 on the elevator for 3d. the cap should be very strong in the elevator and harrier also because of where the stab/elevators are placed.. Mine will fly with just a slight push inverted as far as balance is concerned. I am flying the 33% H-9 Cap 232.
