YS - they are a well recognized motors. They aren't your cominal garden motor. That's why only a select few shops are allowed to stock them. When you see what they are doing in F3A, well that's why they are the best. A YS 63 has the same power as a good 90 4 stroke. The new 110 - is more powerful than the 120!
It's kind of like a Shimano, they are a quality product.
If you want a good motor, a good 46 is the Thunder Tiger 46, mines had over 40 flights. I hardly ever use the starter on it. I love it!!! I ran it for the first time in 8 months the other day, flicked started again. Same plane, same motor - 3 years old and as reliable as a Volkswagen!!!!

4.The YS 63 produces the same power - as a 90 4-stroke!!
5. Instantanoues throttle response
Sure, you are paying extra, but you are getting the best. And the best in anything is expensive!
I've switched from two strokes - after flying a friends plane with a 4 stroke. It's been expensive but more than worth it!
Besides - the Flip is heavy for a fun fly - Madness 2 looks a lot lighter!

he probably overheard a conversation that it was better and now has to tell everyone the world according to Ian
5% is fine. but Ian uses 10%, so i must be wrong, hell Alan Greenfield himself must be wrong, i must tell him how stupid he is when hes out at the weekend
and quit the big red bold stuff, or you wanna be kicked off again?
you don't want to be well know on RCU for the wrong reasons.

I just got a real good deal on a brand new Irvine 52. It was marked at an old price and all the others were £20 more expensive. I was told that all the Irvine motors were going up in price.

Nothing wrong with the Irvine. Edible has a fixation with the West. But once you start buying engines,we all do, you'll find out your favourites. Irvine will be up there.Just try a range of different props for your best performance. Personally for 3D I find on the 52, yes I do own one it's now over 2 years old, a 12.25 x 3.75 APC prop is excellent. Fuel used now is 10% synth, Duraglo that extra nitro just aids recovery from low to high throttle.

Ian, Finger trouble. It is actually the 53. I will be giving it a test this weekend weather permitting. I have an 11x8 and 12x5. I have not been able to find the 12.25x3.75. Is it APC and does it have to be ordered specifically?

Ok smarties THe ASP is a 52 and Irvine is a 53. The props should be £ 4.25 other than that you are being ripped off!!!Both engines are very good but the ASP has only recently been introduced so a duration factor of longevity can not be tested. Not meant to advertise but Steve Webb at Frodsham carries a stock of suitable priced props.
