I recently purchased this airframe and I need advice on my engine selection. I plan to use a YS 140DZ and need reccomendations on propellor selection. I have been using Vess props on my Saitos but a YS is no Saito. The overall weight of the airframe should be less than 13.5 lbs wet using a 20 oz fuel tank. I have been considering a XOAR 17-8 or 17-10 or would an APC be a better choice.

I have a YS 140 sport on mine, on an old aluminum (tatone?) beam mount, made a (1 inch?) spacer to get correct cowl clearance. Pics somewhere
CG was no issue at all.
I use an APC 18x6W at sea level.
Took RPM readings once, I think it was able to break 9K easily.
Performance is brisk, will hover and pull out and climb unlimited, but at a reduced rate, compared to todays standards.
Overall performance is very well balanced, its light and floaty, grooves very precice, KE all day, nice and clean, smooth, no bad habits, crisp all around.
Shes no 3D queen, but willing to give an honest, confident performance. Have not tried other props, but would like some lighter wood ones.
This prop works well all around and gives good mid speed and vertical pull and take off authority. I use 30% heli fuel, its a bit thirsty when running prop ripping laps, but reasonable when doing airshow type flying, I think my tank is only a 16 OZ.
Hope this helps.
