Default Tip spin question....Falls out.

Hello, I know how to do the manuever, and the plane will do it for a couple revolutions, but then falls into some sort of uprightish spin. Ive tried less aileron, less rudder, less elevator, and varying the throttle. Is this a very CG specific manuever? My other plane does it no problem...This is a DP extra

Thanks

Default Knife Edge Spin

I have done this with many planes. There are a few that will roll out particularly biplanes. If the plane is not fully stalled they have a tendancy to roll out of knife edge as the wing will start to fly again. Try entering from an upright spin (left or right) at idle and then throw in full down elevator which should transition into knife edge. Once in the knife edge spin adding throttle will quicken the spin response. The plane will loose altitude VERY quickly so start with a good altitude. I have not found the CG makes a lot of difference. I normally do this in the first half of the flight so the clunk stays in the fuel. Dead sticks aren't fun low to the ground and recovering from one will definately keep you busy. This has worked for me from 0.40 profile glow palnes through a 35% Carden Extra.

try more aileron. I would start from an inverted spin, since you are going to be using down elevator to get it to tip spin. I have found that on some planes you need to add quite a bit of power to get them to stay in the spin. Also make sure you have lots of rudder.

I have good rudder, Ill try to program more aileron in, not sure if I can. The throttle doesnt seem to do much but spin it out faster, My 33% will do it all day at an idle

Thanks

Default SPIN ENTRY

If you enter from an inverted spin the ailerons and rudder are normally reversed (left aileron and right rudder or right alieron and left rudder and down elevator). You want aileron and rudder in the same direction (right/right or left/left). If you have them reversed the inputs will give you an inverted flat spin.

Like I said, I have no problem entering the tip spin, the problem is it falls out.... This next week I hope to try it again..
