While flying my Funtana yesterday the stock nylon clevis on the left aileron pulled completely out of the stock horn when performing a full throttle snap roll. What would you do after this happened?? Well, I did the same thing. I reinstalled the clevis and went flying! Within about two minutes the clevis again pulled out when I did a parachute. Both times I landed without incident. BTW, I'm using Futaba 9001's @ 6 volts.
I now plan to install Du-bro ball links at the servo arm and steel clevises with keepers at the horn. I will keep the stock horn for now.
Just want to post my problem for all of you who are using the stock hardware.

Mine has yet to fly - waiting for the spinner adaptor from TruTurn (I had one, but somehow the threads were stripped - anybody have a 7x1 mm tap?).
I kept the horn, with my allen head bolts, and used ball links at the servo end and solder clevises at the surface.
Saito 91, 5 lb 9 oz RTF
I really wanted to fly it this weekend, it will be next weekend instead.

how about a little piece of regular fuel tubing as a clevis keeper, that has always worked for me.
and i fly the heck out of my planes,as long as the fuel tubing is in place i have not had a clevis snap out.

i'm using all the stock hard wear in mine. flying hard core 3d and have not had a single problem. everything on the plane is done just how they say it should be but with an extra support on the vertical stab. the plane flies great with no problems. i'm using Futaba 3004's all around with a Hitec High torque on my rudder.

I had the same thing happen with my ailerons on my brand new seduction freestyle. I was not able to save the bird as i was doing a high speed roll about 20 feet off the deck. Not much time to figure out whats going on.
I will never use nylon anything on any of my birds again for linkage!!!!!
Antbody that does is waiting for them to fail.
I'm gonna use dubro ball links all around with carbon fiber rods and sullivan steel horns. I don't think that combo will fail.
Glad to see you were able to save the bird. I was heartbroken when i saw mine hit and shatter as the plane was the best bird i have ever seen or flown, it was perfect. Flew it just enough to tease me. Building another one now.

God luck with your new Freestyle shadowspring. Hopefully Mk.2 will be luckier than the first thanks to your new linkages!

if all you guys are having problems, maby i should change mine just to be safe. i just flew today and everything on mine is still holding just fine.
i will most likely change them if you are losing planes because of them.
