Hello
I just bought the new ultra stick lite, and the main reason I bought it was to get more indepth with the all the 3D and aerobatics, so I was wondering if someone could explain to me in great detail what all the quadflaps, flaporons, crow flying and all these things you can do with this airplane, and also how would I set my Futaba 9C up with it, or what would be the best way.. and please I dont mean to be rude but please only answer if your a top 3D pilot, you no who you are.....Thanks alot
Randy

What I mean by a top 3D pilot is someone who is well verst in this hobby, someone who has been doing this along time, someone who I can really learn something from not some person or little kid who's been doing this for two years and can do about 10 cool tricks my 11 year old does that,,,, I'm really getting disapointed in this RC Forum today cause it's becomming no longer a forum for information that will help you but a bunch of smart ass kids trying to get in a bunch laughs in, so why dont ya'll go to neopets and play, and let people who really want to learn answer questions....So like I said earlier if there are any body that can help me with my question I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot

I agree with RANDYRW! There are way too many smart-__s answers being generated on RCU these days. Why don't you all grow up and provide constructive information when someone is asking? I just hope all of you funny guys out there aren't spending so much time on cutting people down that you forget to properly charge your batteries!!!!!

Did you read the instruction manual that came with the Ultra Stick?
It has over 30 pages of programing that adresses your question perfectly.
Also the Great Planes website has a FAQ about quad flap programming for the Futaba radios.
The reason you got the answers you did was because of the way you asked the question.
How many 11 yr olds have a 9C radio or much less an Ultra Stick lite?
You ailenated those who would have helped you because your qualifer is a top 3d pilot which has nothing whatsoever to do with programming a quad flap wing.
The manual that came with the Ultra Stick is the most comprenhensive instruction manual ever to be included with an ARF.
Please read it and then ask the question that applys to your plane/radio specfically.
The question you asked would take over an hour to answer correctly, and that is just time that I do not have to spare.

Also, I would suggest the starter of this thread should try to contribute as well as take away from the threads before being so selective about who answers the questions. As has been said, all of us can learn from everybody else, and, like everything in life, the more you put in the more you take out.
Crow is a set up that slows the plane down by creating massive drag from a mixture of flaps and ailerons working in opposite directions.
. . and it's a black bird. But the person who started this thread could have learned that from the manual.
There! I made a joke! (of sorts)

I have the Ultra Stick .60 with an JR 8103 and quad flaps. To add to what David said, crow allows the plane to fly very nose high at speeds slow enough to hover in a 3 MPH wind. Use the flaps, you won't regret it. By the way, I am 14, flying for 1 1/2 years and, according to most club members, fly better than 3/4 of the club.

Crow is also used to dive to the ground turn on and at about 10ft pull up and land in about 15ft it looks good when done by someone who is fearless. Bet angel loses some planes with an ego like that. The Best pilots are the ones who always question how good they are and take the time to be safe and know when they are Pushing the envelope. We have Heli national champion at our field and have never heard him say how good he is.

Randyrw, the way you worded your post will cause some answers you didn't want, you asked for it. BTW, if you bought this plane to learn 3D you bought the wrong plane. Now if you bought it to have a lot of fun, learning a bunch of new maneuvers, then you are right on target, just not all of the 3D stuff.
My 2 cents,

I didn't mean to sound like I am bragging. I don't never say I am good or the best. I don't think I am. I was just saying some guys at the field say I am better than I think I am. I don't push the envelope and I always check everything before I fly. If some thing is wrong I don't fly. I know it gets worse in the air. I have never lost a plane (knock on wood) because I thought I could do something. I know crashes happen. I just didn't like how Randyrw put down the young pilots who are pretty good. He made it sound like young people can't fly. There is a 6 year old at my field that handle crosswinds like a pro. By the way, the Ultra Stick is a fun airplane. On this site on person told someone to try something with their US. I tried it and it is cool. It looks like a climbing inverted flat spin. but it only does 3 rotations before it just spins downward.
