Default 3D Flying Training Videos

Hello,

My friends and I are going to be making some 3D tutorial videos that we would like to share with the people of the RC community. However, I would like to know what exactly how you might want them done.

Here is what I was thinking of...
Have 2-3 minute videos of EACH manuever of 3D AND IMAC that we are capable of. Such as, Harrier rolling circles, hover, torque roll, blenders, tornado spins, tumbles, parachutes, walls, waterfalls, harrier, elevators, etc. For IMAC things like a clean 4 point roll, cuban 8, immelman turn, etc.

Maybe do like a 1 minute preview with a stick plane of how it will be done and explain the stick inputs required through the manuever? Then do it with the real planes...

This will all be done on the internet and posted for everyone to view and see in high quality digital camcorder.

What do you guys think?

Excellent idea, Steven...All newbies to the idea of 3D will be most appreciative. I personally will have a purpose then, when I take out my Aeroworks Edge 60/90, or the GSP Katana 72, other than just "flipping sticks" and praying for the best.

Alright guys, my buddies and I will get to work on it real hard so we can get you guys some great "hands on" feel like your there experience that no reading or manual can do.

Is there any particular way you would like the video clips set-up so you could maybe enhance your learning by?

Always up for new ideas, btw, this is going to be all free for you guys...

I would think Ideally have a camera on the plane, and one on the tx, put the tx vid in the corner so users can see the sticks, Or make sure someone is talking through the manuever at the least.

Here is my thought on what I think would be most beneficial...

Step 1) List aircraft, pilot, and set-up prior to demonstration

Step 2) Briefly explain the manuever about to be performed and show the stick inputs PRIOR to the manuever

Step 3) Perform the manuever

Step 4) Talk THROUGH the manuever being performed

Step 5) Slow motion, go back through the manuever and explain again

Step 6) The end

Something along those lines

Also if you can mabey add a small blurp of how the plane is set up.I've heard so many pilots say"I have the same plane but I can't do that".Then come to find out their plane is balanced right on the CG when it should probably be more aft!!

Okay, next thing on the agenda....

Manuevers:

-3D Flying:
*Hover
*Torque Roll
*Harrier

-IMAC:
*Loop
*2,4,8 point roll
*Rolling circles
*Split S

Now, with manuevers, if we do a video for EACH manuever were talking easily 20 videos LOL... at maybe what 10mb a video, we can do it, but do you want maybe them in SUB SECTIONS? Like hovering/torque rolling together, harrier/elevators together, or what?

Wow you are looking at a ton of work.

But will be most aprieciated!
If you post it with stick plane and stick TX movements then real stick movements and then cut to real flying. people can fast forward and rewind to get the idea.

sub sections would be great.

We will certainly do that, what we will do is make a maybe 3-5 minute video that will show you inside and out of the plane and exactly what it looks like/set-up for, and a set-up list for that on top of the video.

So there should be no confusion.

We know its going to be work but it will be fun work and in the end be very usefull to people...

Feel free to request manuevers, and suggestions for how the video layout should be.

The coolest manuver I think I've seen lately is harrier rolls about 6ft off the deck the entire distace of the runway!!

We shall do as you wish...

I would say it will be another 1 month before we start filming for these films due to our schedule and the demo coming up at Las Vegas that we have to prepare for.

We will shoot for before Christmas time to be completely finished, I think what will end up happening is doing a movie and post, and update weekly until then or something.

Hey All

I am going to be flying most all of these video's, and editing them all, they will be hosted on our ( Shortman, Someone11, and I) website, for free viewing at all time.

I dont think some 6 foot off the deck harrier rolls will be a problem

I like the new icons [&:]

Thanks!

I just wanted to say thanks! This is what we need to start pratcing.

I would echo the need for a basic set up video.

How do I know I need more right thrust, more down thrust, or move the CG back. What do I look for.

How do I know that I need to couple rudder plus something else.

I know this is a lot to ask, but if you have the same plane as other people but its set up just a little wrong, you may never be able to 3D with that set up.

I think one video of "how do I know my plnae is trimed out correctly" would be of great value.

thanks again

Hehe, I will see guys... I think we should be able to burn them into DVDs no problem but that will be decided after we make them.

Right now were working on our website trying to get it set-up nicely and packed with information...

I will release it maybe tonight or later
