Default Uproar Replacement

:disappoin Just toasted my Uproar and I'm looking for a replacement capable of extreme 3d. The uproar was OK, but did not knife edge at all, even after enlarging the rudder area by 20%. I want a plane that will literally flip on it's axis and do knife edge loops. I want to use my o.s. .46fx as it's a great running engine. Any Ideas?

Try the "Dazzler" as it is the same plane with more side area. Two things produce knife edge flight: 1. Side area 2. Speed (engine). It is doubtful if a .46 will give you this in this size and weight plane. I have flown both these planes. I'm currently flying a Hanger 9 Pizazz which is more capable than either of the other mentioned planes. I'm using a .46 and don't have unlimited vertical but can get a knife edge loop. I'm planning on installing a .53 (2 stroke) at the same weight. Some are using up to a .70/ 4 Stroke for truly unlimited vertical. Bill

Try a profile plane. Some of them even list the side area for you to see. On a 40 size, there may be up to 300 in2 of side area.

I think that the Dazzler will be too much like the Uproar and I'll still be disappointed. As suggested, I'm looking at a profile type airplane. Anyone recommend the Tower Fun Fly P51 or the Sig Fazer? I'm strongly leaning toward the P51 and eliminating the fin and air scoop for clean lines and doing a different color scheme.

Default Profile fun fly

With any of the profile type planes I highly recommend some type of flying "wires" on the tail. I had a Sig Faser which flew very well. It was lost to half the stab coming off in flight. There isn't much to keep the stab from bending. I used some nylon thread on a Thunder Tigre Extra profile (really heavy) and it really helped as it stayed in trim better. The Profile P-51 is also a good plane. If you are planning so much modification and want a profile why don't you use the wing design from the Uproar and design your own fuselage? Bill
