It's a trade off issue. I've had both arf's and the Funtana is better at 3D but takes more skill to fly. The Magic Extra does not 3D as well but is more stable to fly. It's more of a sport/3D than the Funtana which is pure 3D.

Mine held up great after flying the wings off of it. In fact I retired it to the ping pong table in the basement where it sits gutted. Got tired of flying it. It was a great 3D trainer for me. Yeah I had some close calls but got out of all of them without a crash, hundreds and hundreds of flights.

I first bought a Funtana .40 and put a saito .82 on it, it is an easy plane to fly, land, and takeoff, but the 3d aspect is a little harder, it is pilot ability though, not plane capability......

Then I bought a Goldberg ex-treme 330s profile with an O.S. .46 AX, stock muffler, and this thing is a blast to fly, I run the fuel tank dry every time, it will flat spin, knife-edge loop, hover, ......and I'll be flying the wings off of this thing before I throw some of these manuvers at the funtana..

It all depends on the person too, a guy from a local club had nearly 100 hours on his first funtana and the got caught goofing off.....This was his first 3D plane he had ever owned and I was watching him with his second Funtana and he was rolling harrier circles 20 feet off the runway.....

The look of the funtana cannot be beat... just my $0.02
