Guys,
I've had some JR DS8411s (11kg/cm torque) in my Hype since I built it but am going to raid it so those servos can go in my new Composite-ARF Extra.
I was thinking of switching to DS8231 servos (6.5kg/cm) and wondered if these servos will still be man enough for full on 3D.
Any thoughts/what are you guys running on this model??
Regards.

i dont own this model, but i own a flip. i run 148s on all surfaces and even with 5mm of slop each way i can do 3D. You WILL notive a difference wen you go over 5kg. Some people say you need 8kg to 3D a small plane but i dont believe this. If you run the servos on 6v (like i do) the torque will rise and the speed will definatly increase.
All i can say is that yuo wont have the performance like you did with the 8411s.
BTW, is that your ferarie?

Ample,. with no disrespect to the model the 8411s were wasted in it ! I used Robbe FS 100s. Anything ovewr 4kg torque will be fine if you have them 1 per surface.

Welsh3D,
I knew the 8411s were overkill but I was lucky enough to have 4 knocking around!! I'll probably get the 8321s as I'll be able to swap them into some of my jets/large scale models if I need to.
edible_engine - yep, my Ferrari
Extremely impractical for modelling though

id like to have 4 8411s lying around, that would be nice......i kinda guess the ferrarie would be useless for moddling, a guy came up in a Noble the outer day to my patch, he had to hav ethe heli on the passenger seat and the flight box concisted of a tesco bag with a few bits in it..lol
