I was flying my little .40 size kangke extra last weekend, I am just learning to hover. I was about 30' up in a hover & it started to fall out, I hammered down & went straight up like a rocket. A couple of guy's in the pits hollered "what do you have in that thing, a 120??" I responded "no, a ys63" HeHe. There jaw's dropped to thier knees in disbelief. I also have a funfly with a saito 72 & the ys63 will kick it's *****.

Well... a YS63 pulls like some 120's
When YS's run properly, nothing can touch them. Try feeding it some 30% if you aren't already. It will really sing on high nitro.

My YS63 on 30% turns a 13x4W APC over 13K. I don't open it up often with that prop, 13K+ worries me, but the few times I DO get into the throttle that sucker just BARKS.

I hear ya, I'm running a 13x6 & turning 12,400. It pulls that 6 pound extra like it weighs nothing, I put a pull pull rudder & 2 hs81mg servo's in the tail & 2 on the ailerons, got spoilerons & flaperons programmed & it's way cool. I can only imagine what a light funfly would be like with the ys63 in it.

You guys should feel lucky! In the UK it costs us about $34 equiv. for a gallon (slightly more in a UK gallon though) of 20% YS fuel (the genuine stuff anyway!) Running 30% would need some serious cash!

I have my YS63 in a Sig Kadet Seniorita 3 channel.... OK, it has been modified a bit, but it still looks like a Kadet from 10 feet away. Plane is at 3.75 lbs, 1/3 chord full span ailerons, enlarged elevator rudder. Talk about jaws dropping... I just takeoff and putter around like it is a Kadet, no more than two clicks of throttle, user rudder only for turns, etc. Then after a few minutes of that I bring her in slow and low for a landing, but instead I pull a wall center runway, hover for a sec at idle like I screwed up and stalled on landing... but then the surprise... I open that YS up, it roars to life belching out a ton of smoke and launches the Kadet to the moon... he he he... man I have fun doing that. Gets the folk in the peanut gallery to choke on their own spit.
