i would like your opinions of each of these planes.
i have had a cougar before but it came to the end of its life
a couple of months ago and was wondering if there is any
difference between the models as they appear to be the
same style of model.
thanks

Hi
All i can say is COUGAR COUGAR COUGAR. Only because ive got one and i havent got a magic. The main differece between the two is the section. The magic has a semi sym were as the cougar has a full sym. The cougar flies faster and is easyer to prophang but the magic can go slower and will perform FF events which require you to fly about for long distances or long times ie climb and glide

I like the magic a lot, and personally i would buy the magic.
I cannot fault the cougar 2000 either, it is an awesome model for hovering, and probably the better of the 2 for.
Theyre very similar really... youre not missing out with either of them, Its just a personal thing really! i've had the cougar and a load of lmbo dancers, and i know their capabilities inside out, I guess thats why I'd prefer to try the magic. (flown it a few times but not owned one)

for all out fun the Cougar, the Magic is a more natural slow flyer, better for slowly floating around the patch, the Cougar would rather be abbused. so it depends on what you want from it. The Cougar is also the toughest of the two IMO, esp the rudder area

I agree phill. the damage ive done to my cougar is stupid, im guessing most outher 1.5kg planes wouldent last as long as my cougar, i just keeps on going. Heres th edamage its had done to it:
pulled firewall out twice
Made most of my LE squishy after full power blenders etc.
torn off UCs
Crashed doing looping touch and goes
Low inverted pass and recked my carb, needed new one.
Ripped out servo tray 3 times
Kartwheeled about 2 times
Recked wing tip
Full power (throttle servos bearers broke) pushed into the ground. Thats what its on the bench at the moment for .
Had to repair loads of cracks in the fuz
and much more BUT IT STILL LIVESlol
AND MY FRIEND HAD A MID AIR,WHICH SMACHED IT INTO LOTS OF BITS AND IT FLIES BETTER THAN EVER APPARENTLY even tho its 3" shorter

ll only twice? bah your not trying..
i dont have a solid rib left, you can move my aileron servo trays, one is held with more or less just the film, i've had a midair that tore the rudder and elevator servos to bits, but it still flys full speed and does blenders.
all this can be seen on my site with my review.
however, i've seen Magics fall apart in the air, rudder normally. i've seen firewalls fall off from fuel soaking, but i think most of it is Cougar owners tend to be the type that look after the plane a little more ( lol not me ), that Magic was a dog.

LOL, ive got a ideo of a heli doing inverted hovers dunking the blads in the water[&:][&:]
i agree phill
I was doing some good hovering today, not with a cougar but with my flip. My flip is very hard to prophang at an angle but get it vertical and its so stedy! I managed to TR it to the deck (well, a few inches)
