Using the time multiplier in Real Flight G2 lite at 55% I have been able to learn how to hover the CAP 232 and a few other airplanes. Now I can do it with the multiplier set at 100% (normal time). My problem in that as soon as the airplane starts torque rolling I do not know how to correct in pitch (elevator imput) to maintain the plane pointing up and it falls over after 1/2 - 1 complete roll. Can anybody help me here?

#1 You have to commit and get it low so you can see what its doing. When the plane is far from you and high, you can't really tell what its doing. I am not saying get it a foot off the ground, but get low. The ambiant light can form illusions on which attitude the plane is actually in when your plane is high.
#2 PRCTICE........ Start off by trying to find the sweet spot. Do this by pointing the plane straight up and watch what it does. Dont try to correct it first, just watch. The next time, make a small correction or two until you get better at your inputs. (TIP) when the belly is to you, and it starts to fall off to one side or the other. point the rudder stick towards the falling wing. You may have to blast a little wind over the surfaces every once in a while. Quick little burst....
#3 PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE AND PRACTICE SOME MORE.......
This is basicly the way I learned..
Hope this helps,
Shane

All it takes is lots and lots of practice, there is no "magic key" to learning it, just practice. Sounds like you could benefit from practicing a super slow verticle climb, as slow as the plane will climb without actually TRing, hang it on the prop like you're hovering and turn the airplane to the attitude that confuses you then see how long you can hold it in that position. Let it fall off a bit forwards and back so you get the feel of how to correct in the gear facing you and canopy facing you attitudes. There are only two choices, up or down... be gentle on the sticks at first so if you go the wrong way you it wont flop over too fast and you'll have time to catch it. If you lose it just do it over again and repeat your mistake 'till you figure it out. Another thing you can do is make a copy of the airplane you're practicing with, then make a copy of the engine thats on it, then go into the "edit engine" menu and turn down the "rotational torque" of the engine to slow the TRing down 'till its slow enough that your mind can keep up. Then as you figure it out and get more proficient slowly increase the torque until you have it set back to where it initially was.
Good luck, keep at it

Like Shanes300 said, keep it low, but not so low so that you don't have time to recover. Get fairly high and get to know the planes tenancies as far as taking note of what inputs to make. Since you can hover, now its time to let it torkroll. My technique to not getting messed up at the belly is PUSH THE STICK TO THE WAY THE AIRPLANE IS FALLING OUT. This method has worked very well for me. Also, be careful not to over-control. As for pitch, just think of it as if you were flying inverted when the belly is toward you. Pull to pitch away from you push to come toward you. After you get proficient at it, you can violate rule #9 with the rest of us!
Hope the info helps!

Hi
I bought Real Flight G2 this Christmas and I'd like to learn to hover a plane. The real plane I have is Modeltech Magic 3D.
I think the best model to learn is "Extra Special". Or not?
How can I use the "time multiplier" and what can I do to see the plane bigger?
Thanks a lot

You can download other planes. I downloaded the Ultimate 3D. It is very easy to torqueroll this plane as it reacts quite slowly - you torque roll on low rates. This gives you time to see what your inputs are doing and correct where necessary. I spent half an hour or so each night for a week with this plane, and can now torque roll it with the rudder just off the ground, just in front of me for minutes.
Now I am moving to other planes which are harder to refine my skills.

I always learned from my friend and I started hovering and whent he belly gets towards me you push the rudder stick to the falling wing
If it is falling to the right whne the belly is towards you give it the same rudder (right)!!!
This WILL help whne you get to this stage

I had this same problem at first (well for a while). If you just keep trying every day, you'll automatically start figuring out how to correct. You get through one rotation, then two rotations, then you'll be able to just do it all day. I thought I'd never get it but I kept at it and sure enough it comes. The human brain is an amazing thing (how we learn difficult things).
Now the hard part for me is how to STOP torque rolling. Do you use ailerons to stop rolling or just keep the pitch of the plane more forward with the elevator? It's hard for me to keep the elevator controlled while using the ailerons at the same time.

and not outbopard ailerons, the ailerons need to be in the propwash to have any effect. The way i lert to tourque roll (and still am) is to learn normal hovering (using ailerons to stop it rolling) then to learn not quite side on then to learn belly in hover. Then blend it all into one, also AFP has helped loads, id recomend this to any pilot

[8D]Hi people,
Real Flight G2 (I bought it this Christmas) is a blast to learn hovering. If you don't have a powerful computer
you can do this:
1 - "Airport" menu > uncheck "3D Terrain" and "Show Trees".
2 - "Airport" menu > "Item Visibility" > uncheck all items except "Runway" and "Grass".
3 - "Options" menu > "Graphics Optimizations" > "Graphics Quality" > "Texture Quality" and "Graphics Quality" > move the slider
to the left and choose "Low".
4 - "Options" menu > uncheck all options except "Use Mip Map".
To learn step by step do this:
"Options" menu > "Miscellaneous" > "Misc. Physics Options" > "Time Multiplier" > more you reduce the percentage, more
the plane moves slowly.
I'm beginning on 55 %.

Thanks a lot

Does anyone know if you can do that with Aerofly?
Realflight is too pricy I think.

yes, AFP is the best ever sim, im borowing G2 tommorow so i can make a comparison, i use AFP to practise almost every night, its helped loads, especially with tourque rolls and harriers of all forms and i mastered the 4 point rolling circle yesterday and and mastered it today for real
