Well I've tried my pipe on my OS 32sx and Enya 35X (the same pipe fits both engines) and it really did make a difference. There are two pipes you can get: Power pipe, for top end performance (i think) and the throttle pipe, for midrange and some top end performance. I'm running 20% nitro now too and I would say I'm getting about 10-15% more power, bottom end is a lot smoother too and I can hang my standard cougar on about 1/5th throttle.
Prices are around £30-60 for this size.

Hope this helps

Dean

well, try one of those weston ones from IH. Ive got one on my west 50 and its a loverly pip. The throttle doenst snap open but its soooo smoth to open, but not sluggish. Id think it improves in power aswell but i havent tries it without

Ive also got a cheepy perkis one on my cougar. brilliant thing. So snappy throttle. perfect for a funfly mid rande is brilliant

Get one for the C50, its worth it

my experience of mini pipes, makes the throttle like its on a switch.
Great for increasing power tho. The weston ones are supposed to prevent the throttling problem.

The norm for 3d is a Throttle pipe.
Thats what i use to good effect in another of my models with an irvine 53 powering it.
Goes well, throttles just as good as with a conventional silencer.
Its the weston throttle pipe.

When i was running a 12x6 it purred quietly, but now it has too little prop when using a 13x4, so its loud.

mmm, hats sound s like a full length tuned pipe. All the mini pipes ive seen are reliable as hell. Both of mine are too. My mates pattern ship is allot like that. You open the stick and its like a turbine. Takes a hile to 'spool up' lol. It does increase the power loads tho

Edible a mini pipe can be designed for max power or throttling. The Weston Genesis throttle and power pipes look the same but have
different chambers and baffles inside.

As Luke rightly pointed out for 3D you want a throttle pipe.

Have a look at the Weston site. http://www.westonuk.co.uk/aero.html

Simon, not necessarily - this depends on the engine doesnt it !? The West uses the Mini and not the Throttle Pipe... the Throttle Pipe chokes the West.

The way to tell them apart from the outside is that the last part - the tail of the pipe is about 1" long on a Mini Pipe, and half that on a throttle pipe.

Ih would generally supply the Capiche Throttle Pipe for engines other than the West and the Mini with the West T motors

Ok Arch. The West .50 being an exception.

But as the guy has an Irvine 53 he'll need a Weston Genesis throttle pipe.
