Default Pics of my YA Cap 232

Here are a couple pics of my Yellow Aircraft 60 sized cap 232. I installed a saito FA-100 4 stroke in her. Took me a while to build my first aircraft that was built all on my own. Came out awesome. I don't fly it yet because i am just learning to fly planes with my instructor as soon as the weather turns warmer. I fly helis now and compete occassionally with them. But this plane is to nice to me to go out and smash it on my first flight. What yous think.

Cap Snap, bla bla bla. I did the exact same thing as you. Learned to fly helicopters then moved on to airplanes. In fact, my first airplane was an OS 70 Powered GP Cap 232. I just couldn't bring myself to have some silly trainer while my heli buddies flew gas powered aerobatic planes. Flew it fine all by myself. Took 3 passes to get the 1st landing done but it landed in 1 piece. Don't let others push there ideas of how a plane will fly when it is likely that they have not seen the plane in question in there air themself. I have personally seen the Yellow Aircraft Cap 232 (60) fly and it does not have the tendancy to snap. I am not saying that it WONT but the likelyhood is slim if you fly it carefully. Due to you background in Helis I doubt that you are a stick banger and that you will fly it precisely. I eneded up giving my Cap to a friend that wanted a second plane other than a trainer. It still flies today. I did, however, break 1 piece off of my cap that caused me to ground it for my uses. I loaded my toolbox on the elevator and "Snapped" it off.

LoL, you hit my exact thoughts on the head. I don't care what other people say about it's tendencies and my capabilities. I am the type of person who goes out and finds out for himself. If i crash it oh well i will get over it and build another. I worked my ace off through 6 years of college so i could afford to play, and that is exactly what i will do. I just have bigger better toys now. Some guy in another post told me that my cap won't hover for dung. "Whatever" My buddy hovered the other day, just about put the tail on the ground, spinning around circles and stuff, then the thing literally rocketed out of the hover with no problems through the whole maneuver. Ya know what, i probably will crash it some time. Heck, i crash everything now and then. But it's always from playing to hard. But imo that's the best way to learn for me. And no, it's not cheap, but it's mine, it's fun, and i learn quickly. pe@ce

Whoops! Sorry for replying! I was just mentioning to be careful. Silly me!

Maybe if you do not want advice or care what other people think you should not end your post with "What yous think" I thought you were asking. I also did not read your post all the way thru, and did not realize I was dealing with an expert heli pilot.

So once again, sorry for posting.

Have a nice day!

I was asking what you think about the looks of the plane , Obviously ! Why would i post to pics to hear watch the snap, don't fly that, oh your in trouble now. Every post i read is the same, (negative) where is the optimism around here. Just to let you all know, i did fly it this morning. Flew when i was home alone , no friends around, no pressure incase i did crash it. To even my own shattered self confidence from posts about this plane, i did a darn good job. Took me 2 passes to land it but man it was sure a pressure reliever. I didn't try to offend anyone with last post. I was just stating the type of character i am. I like to find out for myself and i guess i take offense when people tell me i can't or your not ready for something. It makes try that much harder to succeed and prove them wrong. Same thing happened with helis. I will send in a vid soon as i can of my 2 1/2 yr. heli experience as a pilot. You will be impressed and realize that their is not a maneuver i can not execute with my helis. Ya see, helis don't fly like planes: They beat the air into submission. Go get a high performance heli for some real excitement. The old timers even encourage you to go for the gold! IMO stay away from those cheesey no thrill trainers. Go big right away and grow in to it. Go big or go home.

Thats your first kit built plane? Awesome job! I think it looks great. I agree with Phil, fly it. Just keep it on low rates for awhile till you get settled in. Trickiest part is landing. Just keep some throttle into it till it just settles down. And once again Great job on the Cap!

Thanks for the pics,
Jeremy from New York

Well lets not get all bent out of shape here. Maybe CAP SNAP was meant as a warning. Im sure that if you are as good a heli pilot as you say you are that you have the smooth thumb movements down. the difference in planes and helis is the stall. You will be fine as long as you pay attention to the plane. If you let it get to slow, IT WILL SNAP. MOST ALL AEROBATIC PLANES WILL SNAP OR DROP THE NOSE, ESPECIALLY SMALLER ONES. I do agree with you though. If you crash, just build abnother one. No big deal. Just go out and have fun with it. that is about the best advice i can give.
