I intend to use OS32SX on Modeltech Magic and need help on the foll:
AA Is this engine adequate to do full justice to Magic's capabilities. I do have another OS46LA which I can use. Spec sheets show that both these engines have same power output, in which case I would rather use 32SX for its throttle response.
BB What is the best prop for 3D flying for the OS 32SX.
Any comments welcome.
Cheers!!

I would try an 11x4 on the 32fx.
I actually use a 46LA on my Cougar 2000, which I had spare and only put on as a temporary measure to get the thing in the air, but I found it throttles so well and has enough power for prop hanging etc. that it stayed on there and still does it justice a year later. I run a 12.25x3.75 fun fly prop on that engine.

i got a 11.5x4 APC on my limbo dancer with 32sx, very slow flying but makes hovering and harriers sooooo much easier than with the 11x4. Should work well on a magic but i dont really know this plane.
(i cant hover properly yet tho...)

A friend at our club has this combo and it only just hangs[
]...any wind and it won't! [
]
So I would go for the 46....no sustitute for cubes!!
The 46 will have more torque and hence turn the bigger prop with ease.

Flew in the nationals fun fly with a Limbo dancer with 32sx on and I used a 10x4. I know the 2 winners as well and they used the same props as me. The APC 10x4.
Hope it helps.

APC 11-4.5 is the biggest I'd go on this this engine. An 11-3 or 11-4 even better. For 3D I'd stay in the 11 inch diameter range to get max thrust and slow speed. 11-4.5 would work but it might not wind up fast enough and the top RPM might be a little low. These little engines like to rev.
11-3, 11-4, 11.5-4 is your range if you ask me.

Yes, this will hang. It hangs my 3lbs cougar at under 1/2 throttle, i used a 10x5. My friends done allot of prop experimentation and this is by far the besthewes found
i use an irvine 36

I have an OS .32 on a profile hots. Flying weight is 3 lbs 4 oz. Prop is APC 11x3. Hovers at about half throttle and gives great thrust and acceleration. I think the engine winds up a little faster with the 3 pitch rather than the 4. Don't worry about overreving the engine with the 3 pitch because you are only wide open when bailing out of a manouver or climbing.
