how much more throw do you need? they are already completely stalled at that point.

Yeah anything past that point you're just getting prop wash to flip you around a little better. You have plenty of elevator there. Nothing more needed. That's how I set mine up though, and I use it all.

I think with that design we may have an edge beater, but i have to say that kit looks absolutely outstanding. I think you need one for flying and one to hang on the wall still in pieces just so you can admire the build quality.
I understand you can put anything up to a 140 in it, is the YS 110 sufficient or would a bit more be ideal?

the 110 already gives it plenty of power. hovers at just over half throttle. how much more power do you need? the 140 is just more weight, more fuel. i already get the best of both worlds. the plane looks great when it is hovering or doing a rolling circle etc but all the while it is not flying, i get to sit and stare at it provided i dont have something else to do.

No Clam, I was asking Archie. I know why you would want to stare at a Yak. Because it's a little different, and it's BEAUTIFUL!

The yak has been purchased and will arrive here in the uk Wed next week.
A YS 110 awaits. And I even ordered a bit of 30% as a bonus.

for all you guys that don't want to spend a small fortune and risk it doing 3d. Try the Troy Built 3d delight
This is one of the best 3d airplanes i have ever flown. Sure its a foamy but its no wimp. I have flown mine In twenty mile an hour winds, Indoors, In the school yard , almost everywhere. Airplane cost 32 bucks
WOW. Electronics brushless motor and bat. are another 250.00 . How about tork role for five minutes one foot off the ground. this plane is a ton of fun. Just so every one knows I fly a Carden 35% edge 540 which is a pretty good 3d machine itself but I have more fun with my Troy built 3d delight. Who likes risking 5k or more in your competition airplane ? I don't

Just my two cents ....

Both of the composite-arf yak-55s would surely be hard to beat.
