Default Torque Roll too easy on Real Flight simulator

I've found too easy Torque Roll on the Real Flight simulator with any plane provided enough power and throws.
In the field things are quite different. I just can hover only for a few seconds.
I want to know if Aerofly Pro is more realistic and therefore more difficult concerning Torque Roll.

I find Aerofly Pro is super for nearly everything -- especially harriers.

However, I can't seem to modify any of the Aerofly planes (I've tried for many days with the Extra and Cap) to get them to tumble like some of the planes on Realflight (Edge, Pitts, Sukhoi).

The big planes on Aerofly pro seem to be "filled with helium". I get an effect like I'm flying under water, as it seems to take forever to initiate a snap or any stalling maneuver, or get the plane to fall realistically. I think this is why they're so forgiving in harrier type moves. I've added weight, changed the sim speed, increased throws, added power. I didn't play with airfoils or incidences.

Now, i find it's really more fun to fly the RF, (especially with others online, which Aerofly Pro will NOT do), so I use Aerofly Pro only when I need to work on inverted harrier practice.

At work (hobby shop) we have realflight. It's fun just to sit and watch the control surfaces flip around. Realistic or not, it's still fun.

I made the wings so heavy, that when the tail drops at the start of each flight, if I don't gun the plane immediately, the shock of the tail dropping breaks the wing rod and the wings fall to the ground before I can even take off!

I think the real problem is that the air in Aerofly Pro is really too thick!

In RFG2, try TR'ing the stock chipmunk and stock edge.

I have AFP, love it. Since I got it I haven't loaded RFG2. It has built my TR skills far beyond what RFG2 did. I think its a better sim for 3D style flying. But neither is perfect.

wind junkie

I know what you mean about the helium (thick air). I don't have AFP but have been really close to getting it because everyone says how great it is. Is AFP great or are the planes just so easy to 3D everyone loves it???? All the videos I see look very "floaty" and way too easy to 3D.

I'm happy with G2 so I'll pass on AFP, for now.

No Aerofly is much better than G2. I have both. Of course it is easier to 3-D than real flight, but aerofly is more realistic. Your best best for an all around good plane is the Extra 300L that is on the download site. It is one of the better airplanes on the sim. That and the wildhare edge 540 is also a very real flying airplane.

The G2 plane I downloaded and further modified torque rolls with the same difficulty as my real planes. Sure the ailerons don't work in a hover on G2 but tail touching etc is very close the the real thing. I still can't get a G2 plane to do a realistic waterfall []

I'm just afraid to shell out another $200 for AFP if it's easier than the real thing for 3D. If the sim is too easy it won't help me get better. Hoepfully I can talk a friend into getting it so I can try it
