Default Taco II servos

Need opinions --

I plan to start a Taco II tomorrow, but using the tiny HS55mg servos? isn't that a little light? Am planning to power it with a TT .25. I know you would want to keep it light, but might that be a little TOO light?

Fellas, let me know!

Thanks,

Vaughan Sharp

The Taco flies fairly quickly, has large surfaces and you are going to want some extreme throws. Most guys, including myself, are using hs-85mg's or equivalent. My opinion is that if you install the 55's, you will just end up changing them before, or right after the maiden flight. I do have an hs55 on the throttle though. Good luck

Thanks, Astroman --

I have HS81's -- will try that! I appreciate the quick reply!

I am an OLD flier (controlline since the 60's, R/C since '75) but am very new to this style of flying.

Regards,

The last .25 size profile I had stripped every HS 81 I could throw at it. I had to go to HS 85 MG's, then I never replaced a servo after that. Of course if your just going to putt-putt around with it, you could do the 81's, but you know your gonna try to twist it in half, so do the right thing on the front side. Going cheap/light on the servo set up is not always the right thing to do.

2Fast4u --

Maybe I better use standard Futaba servos on at least rudder and elevator -- this will be a wring-out airplane. Thanks!
