Default Which Prop Should I Use?

A friend just got a Phoenix Models Fun Star 3D plane. It has a 52.7" wing span 51.5" length and a
weight of 4.46 lbs. It says to use a 40-46 two stroke or a 48-53 four stroke. He had an older
Saito 50 four stroke that didn't have much time on it at all so he cleaned it up real good and mounted it using a Dynamount softmount by Sullivan. He asked me to get on here and ask
the expert 3D guys which would be the best prop to use for 3D flying and also what they think about softmounts. Thanks for any words of wisdom you my have.

HAPPY FLYING!!!

Default RE: Which Prop Should I Use?

I would probably go for something between a 12.25x3.75 to a 13x4. Get a few props and try them all a see which ones works best for your setup! For 3d you want a large diameter and low pitch, which will give good stong vertical without turning the aircraft into a pylon racer!
