[sm=thumbup.gif] As you know Quique, Chip and Jason are the best 3D pilots in the world,,,,
Once again they were 1,2,3 in the top class (FAI) in the AMA Pattern Nationals this past week. Just a thought, if you truly want to be the best 3D pilot you can be, as I have said before, you might consider following their lead and try pattern, its only boring to watch if you dont do it

True, But you will never be your best if you turn your nose up at pattern, its THE best fundamentals teacher of all the disciplines.
This is not a thread to pick a fight,
Just something to consider since I would think the die hard 3D guys wanna be as good or better than the big 3, I know I do,,, and pattern,,, thats how they got to be so darn good. Not to mention the thousands, tens of thousands of hours of freestyle practice put in. Point of the original post, the big 3 in 3D are STILL flying pattern! [8D]
Its not an either 3D or pattern proposition, its ok to do both! Just dont be too "Cool" to try it for Petes sake.
Way to GO JAS. Congrats on your 1st win..

Look at Chips CAP-X video, theres nothing like chucking a smooth crisp slow axial 4 point roll into a 3d routine, true crowd pleaser!
Btw I have finally entered the 3D world, did my first prophang today on a trainer very diffcult hovering with a heavy plane but it DID do it! for 5 secs!

also, Jason Shulman won with an electric plane!!
I talked to Jason Shulman at SEFF and asked how he got to where he is today. He told, "Pattern. Pattern teaches u discipline. It'll make u look in control even in 3D."
ttyl,

I realized at the XFC this year that to get to where the top guys are you need to be able to do both well. (3D and Precision)
IMAC or pattern will definately help in all apsects of your flying. Its MUCH harder than it looks to do correctly.
I am trying to hit 4 IMACs this month..
