What could be the problem, if a plane does not pitch nose up during an elevator, or harrier. It falls 5 to 10 degrees nose down. Adding power does not seem to bring the nose up, but rather just increases airspeed.
The plane in question is a Gary Wright E3D. I have 40-45 degrees elevator, and about 30 degrees up flap mixed in(to much up flap?). The CG is way back to nearly nuetral stability. Can having the CG to far back mess this up? this plane has about a 11oz to the foot wing loading, so its very light for its 4 foot wing. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, I think you answered your own question, but first, why do you have so much spoileron (up flaps)? Did it rock and snap out of elevator before putting in spoileron? Try taking some of that spoileron out and see what it does. By having a lot of spoileron in your wing, you really have to get the plane nose high before the wing will create any lift, and having to add enough power (throttle) for that, may just tumble your plane out of the Elevator.

Well, 30 degrees is what Gary recommends, and there is a vidio of him doing a harrier landing with what looks like just that at www.gwmp.net
I'm just trying to figuer out what could account for the difference. Could the CG throw this off alot. How does cg effect spoileron influence?
Without any spoileron, the plane rocks, like it wants to fall over. I havent had the chance to try differing degrees of spoileron yet, but it sound like that the source of trouble.
I'm just getting into this 3D realm, after flying about 30 years, so its all very frightning

I just watched the video. Gary's E3D rocks a bit during the harrier, and a harrier is easier than an elevator. I fly a plane at the moment, the Extase with a YS91AC. I have about 25-30 degrees spoilerons in during elevators, and it rocks quite a bit, but when doing harriers it is very stable. What I'm saying is, just because a plane does decent harriers, doesn't mean it does decent elevators. They appear to be similar maneuvers, only with the plane moving at different angles to the ground, but the planes will act different.
Don't find 3D scary, but fun and rewarding. Keep it low and slow for maximum fun.
